Automatic centrifuge targets consistency in petroleum oil testing

19 Aug, 2026

Koehler Instrument Company has introduced the K600 Series Automatic Heated Oil Test Centrifuge, designed for petroleum testing laboratories that need consistent, repeatable centrifuge results with reduced manual intervention.

The instrument features a 4.5-inch LCD touchscreen for programming and monitoring test cycles, alongside a safety lockout mechanism and a nitrogen purge function intended to support safe operation when handling petroleum samples. Koehler said the design is intended to improve both accuracy and day-to-day efficiency in laboratories carrying out routine centrifuge testing of crude oil, fuels and related products.

The K600 Series joins Koehler's wider portfolio of petroleum testing instrumentation, which includes flash point analysers, viscosity baths and elemental analysers used across the petroleum, synfuels and petrochemical testing sectors.
