Cannon Instrument Company introduces the CAV™ 5 family, the most advanced automated capillary viscometry platform in its history. Built on more than 80 years of innovation and aligned with ASTM D445, the CAV 5 unifies the proven capabilities of the CAV 2100, MiniAV®, and CAV 4 into a single, highly adaptable system designed for the evolving needs of modern laboratories.

At the core of the CAV 5 is a flexible single-bath architecture that removes the limitations of traditional multi-bath systems. Laboratories can optimize capacity, temperature range, and viscosity range for specific applications, while built-in redundancy helps prevent system-wide downtime and improves operational reliability.

Engineered to handle a wide spectrum of sample types, from routine materials to complex formulations, the CAV 5 integrates advanced thermal conditioning, intelligent sample handling, adaptive cleaning, and smart sensing. These technologies work together to expand the operating range, simplify workflows, and maintain data accuracy. Features such as TargetHeat™, Start Optimization, and WashPort™ further enhance throughput, protect sample integrity, and streamline maintenance.
