Tamson design and manufacture quality control instruments, which are used to measure the physical characteristics that determine product quality and consistency. The 'Tamson' range includes test equipment for the hydrocarbons industry as well as many other laboratory test applications for quality control, calibration and analysis.

Founded in April 1878 by Mrs. Tamson in dedication to her husband Paulus Marinus Tamson, the company began as a wholesaler. Trading in provision of laboratory equipment in the field of chemistry and physics. By the 1950s the product range had diversified into the chemical field, providing thermostatic baths and circulators for the industry. This business generated over 60 years of dedicated experience within this specialised field, reflecting upon the success, quality and high performance of the company's products. Tamson stands for quality, precision and reliability.

For many decades, the Tamson viscosity baths to determine the kinematic viscosity of liquids (ASTM D445, ISO 3104 and IP 71) have been a well-known name in (petro)chemical laboratories. Since 2010, Tamson have adapted several products, so that the Tamson water baths can be used for other test methods in your laboratory. Among others, copper corrosion (ASTM D130 and D1838), density measurements (ASTM D1298, ASTM D70, and ASTM D1480), and thermal ageing of samples (ASTM D6468 and D4870) are now also part of our product range.

In the coming years Tamson will introduce many more apparatus to test samples according to certain ASTM, IP or ISO test methods.

Tamson is based near Rotterdam, The Netherlands and thier products are sold by more than 60 dealers worldwide. Every Tamson distributor is trained to provide technical support for their range of products.
