Paltro will be exhibiting at the upcoming Gulf Coast Conference, where it will showcase its latest instruments for fuel lubricity testing.
With the increased focus on sustainable aviation fuels, the ASTM D5001 BOCLE method for fuel lubricity testing is becoming more increasingly relevant as part of the overall SAF fuel specifications outlined in ASTM D7566. BOCLE-ADV (Ball-on-Cylinder Lubricity Evaluator), is designed specifically for precision testing of jet fuels and sustainable aviation fuels.
The system combines the mechanical test with optical imaging, analysis and reporting, bringing the different stages of the measurement process together in one instrument. It complies with ASTM D5001 and is designed to provide repeatable results while simplifying the testing process.
The company will be demonstrating its High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR), a compact desktop system for testing the lubricity of diesel fuels and biodiesel blends. The instrument is designed to meet the requirements of ASTM D6079, ISO 12156, and ASTM D7688.
The HFRR is fully automated, covering the main stages of the test without requiring constant operator intervention. It also incorporates digital humidity control, helping to maintain consistent test conditions while reducing the need for manual adjustments.
Paltro will also introduce the ADM 5.0 Automatic Density Meter for density measurement of fuels, lubricants and other liquids as per ASTM D4052, D5002
All instruments are intended for laboratories where reliable, repeatable measurements are an important part of fuel quality testing, covering applications from road fuels and biodiesel blends to aviation turbine fuels as well as oils and petroleum distillates.
