CFR Engines’ F5 Cetane EFI Rating System with XCP® TECHNOLOGY is a breakthrough in cetane number (CN) determination. It has a solenoid-style automotive fuel injector featuring a modified nozzle tailored for a broad range of CN applications; this is paired with an electrically driven injection pump which maintains a consistent fuel flow and enhances measurement precision.

One of its primary attributes is its insensitivity to fuel properties. This enables consistent injection timing with a fixed duration completed before combustion onset, thereby ensuring precise, repeatable operation while keeping variability to a minimum.

This system maintains pressurised fuel delivery to the injection pump to ensure a stable flow regardless of fuel bowl levels or physical characteristics. This innovative design curtails injection inconsistencies and cycle-to-cycle combustion variation. Enhanced atomisation improves air/fuel mixing, leading to cleaner combustion and longer maintenance intervals.
