Anton Paar’s (Austria) SPRn series of sound velocity sensors are used for concentration measurement and phase separations. They continuously measure the sound velocity and calculate the concentration to optimize production processes and ensure a consistently high quality of product.

SPRn is used in the petrochemical and chemical industries. It measures the concentration of acids, caustics and many other liquids. Another application is the phase separation of crude oil and brine or the monitoring of a splitter.

The measurement is direct in the pipework or tank so no bypass is required. Intrinsically safe versions are available for use in hazardous areas.
