The GUM Content Tester from Anton Paar (Austria) was especially designed for the highest operation safety and easy handling of evaporated, highly flammable samples like gasoline and jet fuel. The GUM Content Tester meets the requirements of e.g. ASTM D381, ISO 6246 and DIN 51784.

The unique patented multi-function head was designed for the safe and simultaneous positioning of all 5 pre-adjusted jet tubes. No manual handling and assembling of the hot conical jet tubes is required. After one turn only, all tubes are in their resting, pre-heating or working position. The position of the handle ensures that neither steam nor hot air is hazardous to the operator.

Safe withdrawal of condensed water from sample beakers and the compensation of uncontrolled steam eruptions are ensured by an efficient draining system. In addition, the GUM Content Tester comes with a thermal protection shield and over-temperature protection cut-off for higher safety. With its small foot print of only 40 cm x 40 cm the instrument saves expensive fume hood bench space in the lab.

Two different versions of GUM Content Testers are available: an air-operated tester as well as an air- and steam-operated GUM Tester. The air-operated version can be heated up to 246 °C and is therefore also suitable for jet fuel tests. Depending on the model, additional accessories are required.
