The RKA 5 from Anton Paar (Austria) is a ring-and-ball softening point tester that automatically determines the temperature at which a substance attains a particular degree of softness according to methods like ASTM D36, EN 1427, AASHTO T53. With its different ball-centering and dispensing devices the RKA 5 is suitable for bitumen, waxes, road-marking materials and sealing compounds. The smart jog-wheel operation system and Pmove as an innovative operation platform make it easy to select one of the pre-set standard programs or choose one of the 20 user-definable settings. Up-to-date statistical and database functionality, automatic assessment of results as well as various input/output devices simplify testing and improve efficiency in busy laboratories.
