All finished fuels contain antioxidants to prevent oxidation. Spill-overs often occur in the dosage of these antioxidants. PetroOxy from Anton Paar (Austria) enables the precise dosage of antioxidants by delivering the required information about oxidation stability in a very short test time.
PetroOxy initiates a rapid artificial aging process and provides a complete oxidation stability analysis of petroleum products. The instrument swiftly provides clear and understandable results, featuring significant improvements in repeatability and reproducibility compared to established oxidation stability test methods for liquid fuels which are often too time-consuming.
The compact benchtop PetroOxy tester works in exceedingly short test cycles (typically less than one hour) and is cleaned in a fast and simple procedure (only 5 minutes of cleaning and preparation are needed between tests). With its intuitive operation, PetroOxy can easily be used even by lab personnel with limited technical training.
The excellent safety design of PetroOxy features a fully automatic operation, including oxygen charging and relief under a protective lid. PetroOxy will only run when the lid is locked into position and cannot be opened accidentally during a test run. In addition, the small sample size of only 5 mL reduces the risks when handling fuel samples in the laboratory environment. The high security standards have been reported by the German Federal Institute of Materials Testing. This report is available on request.
PetroOxy is an excellent tool for everyone involved in the development, production, storage and use of fuels including Biodiesel (FAME) and fuel additives.
