As a result of the new ASTM Standard "D7777-12", describing the "Standard Test Method for Density, Relative Density, or API Gravity of Liquid Petroleum by Portable Digital Density Meter" the portable density meter DMA 35 Ex Petrol from Anton Paar (Austria) becomes an officially accepted field method. The lightweight instrument provides a much higher measuring comfort and robustness than a glass hydrometer and automatically converts the measured density results to the unit of your choice using the preinstalled API tables for product groups A, B and D (crude oils, fuels and lubricants). With its Ex marking (II 2 G Ex ib IIC T4) the DMA 35 Ex Petrol fully corresponds to the explicitly stated safety requirements to be considered in hazardous measuring environments.
