Ralston Instruments announces the release of the DCAP 650 psi / 45 bar pneumatic hand pump for use in pressure calibration and test applications in oil and gas, petrochemical, maritime, pharmaceutical and aerospace industries.

Ralston Instruments developed the DCAP pump because existing pumps are hard to pump at high pressure. They developed a pump that would reach 650 psi without a lot of effort. This pump also integrates with the Ralston Quick-test system of hoses and adapters. Existing pumps use plastic handles which stretch out over time, causing the pumping action to get much harder and less effective. To get a pump to work well consistently the handles cannot stretch or become loose. We accomplished this by making our handles from anodized Aluminum that won't stretch or corrode.

Instruments design team looks at the applications our products are used in to make design decisions including connections and hoses. Hoses are traditionally a weak point of competitor's products who typically use inexpensive plastic hose that leaks, causing unstable pressure during calibration. We wanted the entire process of calibration to work better so we included our Quick-test hoses which are robust, easy to use and affordable. Extensive beta testing was done in real world situations to refine the design as well.

One of the biggest issues with existing pumps is leakage over time. We reduced this problem by using improved hoses and adapters. Ralston Quick-test hoses and adapters reduce or eliminate leaks that are an issue in other hand pumps. Hand fatigue is also reduced by using a unique pumping mechanism that greatly increases pumping force with minimal effort.

The DCAP pump better than the competition because it is easy to maintain with simple tools found in almost any toolbox. It is easy to access wear parts and to repair in the field. All wear parts are made of stainless steel or anodized Aluminum to prevent corrosion and extend life. All parts are easily replaceable and a simple repair kit will take care of any seals and wear items in the pump

features such as anodized aluminum handles, stainless steel fittings and a precision fine adjust control this pump is one of the best designed and most exciting new products in the test and calibration market.
