MINISCAN IR VISION – Setting New Standards in Portable Fuel Analysis

10 Dec, 2025

The MINISCAN IR VISION is a high-speed, compact, and robust FTIR fuel analyzer engineered for gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and biofuel blends. Designed for precision and compliance, it measures more than 100 fuel parameters for blending, quality inspection, and specification checks directly at the point of sale. Analysis is performed according to ASTM D5845 for oxygenates, ASTM D6277 and EN 238 for Benzene, and EN 14078 for Biodiesel blends. Octane and Cetane Number, Distillation, Vapor Pressure, and other properties are automatically determined from the full IR spectrum using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis and advanced chemometric models following ASTM E1655.

Fast and User-Friendly Measurement

Equipped with a high-performance processor, the MINISCAN IR VISION delivers results within seconds. Its 10” industrial full-colour touchscreen ensures intuitive navigation and immediate instrument response. For global accessibility, the analyzer supports secure VPN remote service, enabling worldwide support and troubleshooting.

Mechanical Robustness for Field Applications

Durability is a hallmark of the MINISCAN IR VISION. It incorporates Grabner’s proven bubble-free metal filling system and is housed in a shock and vibration-tested Vision platform. The double interferometer, mounted with a self-aligning mirror system, automatically corrects intensity shifts after rough handling, ensuring consistent accuracy under challenging conditions.

Unmatched Accuracy and Versatility

The instrument’s thermoelectric temperature regulation of the filling system, measuring cells, and integrated density meter guarantees superior precision in determining volume and mass percent of fuel compounds. It offers full-spectrum analysis for gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel properties, including:

  • Gasoline: RON (70–110), MON (65–105), AKI (67–107), DVPE (40–105 kPa)
  • Diesel: Cetane Number (20–80), CFPP (-50°C to +20°C), Density (0–3 g/cm³)
  • Jet Fuel: Flashpoint (-20°C to +100°C), Freezing Point (-80°C to +20°C)

Additionally, it measures oxygenates, aromatics, biodiesel blends, and octane boosters with exceptional accuracy.

Technical Highlights

  • Smart 2+1 Cell Design
  • Beam Splitter: Ge-Coated KBr
  • Interfaces: 2x USB, 2x LAN
  • Power Supply: 100–264 V AC or 12 V DC adapter for field use
