Automated corrosion evaluation now standardised in ASTM D665-25

08 Aug, 2025

AD Systems has spent seven years of hard work to prove, improve and approve automated corrosion rating technology, which the industry has recognised.

The new revision of ASTM D665-25 "Rust-Preventive Characteristics of Inhibited Mineral Oils" incorporates the CT10 automated instrument as a valid alternative for traditional visual assessment.

By removing the subjectivity inherent in visual evaluation, digital vision technology offers a quick, precise, and objective corrosion assessment, greatly enhancing the test method's reliability.

Among D665, AD Systems’ versatile automated algorithm works well for corrosion evaluation according to NACE TM0172, ASTM D7548, and ISO7120 test methods, both for research and routine applications.

With its compact design, robust construction, and ease of use, the CT10 provides a fully traceable and documented test report, including images of the test specimen surface. With automated corrosion bath CB10 along with automated corrosion rater CT10 , AD Systems offers a complete set of equipment to analyse iron corrosivity of fuels, turbine oils, hydraulic fluids, and to evaluate the performance of corrosion inhibitors.
