Monitoring the chloride in crude oil after desalting is crucial to check the desalting process efficiency and to prevent corrosion problems in downstream processes. Metrohm Applikon (Switzerland) presents a total solution based on the ADI 2045TI Ex proof Process Analyzer using conductivity detection as per ASTM D 3230.

The ADI 2045TI Ex proof Process Analyzer is a highly versatile system suitable for multi-parameter analysis depending on the requirements.

In this particular application, determination of the salt content is implemented as per ASTM D3230. Since the sampling point is typcally in a hazardous environment, the ADI 2045TI Ex proof Process Analyzer is designed and equipped to meet directives 94/9/EC (ATEX95). No hot work permits are needed for maintenance and the analyser can be remotely controlled.

More information on the ADI 2045TI Ex proof Process Analyzer and this application are available from Metrohm Applikon.
