Metrohm Process Analytics recently introduced its first XRF spectrometer, specifically Energy-Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF), the 2060 XRF Process Analyser – Reliable online x-ray fluorescence analysis for liquid process control.

The 2060 XRF Process Analyser has been designed to be able to analyse a wide range of elements from magnesium to uranium in liquid samples (z=12 to 92). By being a non-contact technique, it not only minimises the risk of sample contamination but also reduces waste effectively by not using reagents for XRF analysis.

The 2060 XRF Process Analyser, with its highly advanced software solutions designed for Process Analytical Technology was engineered to optimise XRF analysis. The 2060 XRF features two important software products: IMPACT and VantaTM. IMPACT takes on the roll of user interface, facilitating smart programming, result display, and communicating with the plant control room. The VantaTM manages all data analysis. When combined, these software components make the 2060 XRF Process Analyser ideal for process monitoring support, providing maximum benefits for analytical processes.

The 2060 XRF Process Analyser ensures continuous data collection, operating seamlessly around the clock. Its sophisticated programming capabilities improves plant safety thanks to some advanced, unique features. Through intelligent conditional actions, the instrument proactively monitors critical parameters, allowing operators to make informed decisions in real-time. If a sample drifts from its pre-set limits, the analyser reacts quickly by adjusting analysis frequency or triggering additional tests such as titration, photometry, or standard additions for a comprehensive analysis.
