The VIDA, a fully automated instrument for the analysis of density in oil products, of PAC/ISL is a premium device in its category. Although a frequent performance validation is necessary in order to eliminate any kind of malfunction or incorrect test results. E.L.S. European Lab Services provides a trustworthy verification according to ISO 17025 accreditation.

The challenge of performance verification is to make sure every step of the ASTM, EN or other working standard method is checked thoroughly. It is not sufficient to run a reference sample or do a calibration under ISO-conditions; the complete working method of the analyser must be verified. This is the only way to make sure the device is testing according international standards. The ASTM D4052 is a specific standard method for density analysers. This method describes the verification of the core temperature in one point using a standard reference, programming and verifying the offsets, running a test using a reference product, etc.

After a correct verification, the instrument is ready to use with a proper certification. ELS is still the only company in the world providing the correct testing procedure for density testers and other petroleum analysers according using an ISO 17025 accreditation.
