Wiggens’ recent expansion of its viscosity measurement range is essential for rapid and precise readings in QC and R&D labs. The expanded range features rotational viscometers, capillary viscometers, automatic viscosity measurement systems, and falling ball viscometers.
The Premium Plus line of rotational viscometers have been engineered to accurately determine viscosity and other rheological properties of homogeneous samples. This sophisticated series delivers contemporary design with state-of-the-art electronic technology.
The Premium Plus series offers major enhancements, including a touch keyboard to enhance user-friendly operation and new software that raises sample analysis precision. The Premium Plus Series also offers operators advanced optional benefits such as flow curve visualisation and step, multistep, and ramp modes. In addition, Wiggens has added a continuous reading feature for advanced products, complemented by a USB connection for easy data download to any computer.
Capillary viscometers work by measuring the relationship between time and viscosity by using gravity as the principal factor behind determining kinematic viscosity. Once the density has been established, dynamic viscosity can be easily calculated.
The new automatic viscosity measurement system provides enhanced data accuracy, a reduction in operator errors, and minimised chemical exposure; it is therefore ideal for measuring the relative viscosity of polymers and the absolute viscosity of oils.
The Visco Ball, Wiggens falling ball viscometer, offers compliance with DIN 53015 / ISO 12058 standards, and delivers extremely precise measurements of transparent Newtonian liquids and gases. Using six special glass or metal balls, the Visco Ball times the rolling and sliding movements through the sample liquid in an angled cylindrical tube. The viscosity is calculated by the time it takes for a ball to traverse a set distance, with extra measurements made possible by inverting the tube and applying the return constant.
