Be Fully Mobile in Hazardous Areas with New IECEx and ATEX Approved Smartphone

BARTEC (Germany) PIXAVI presents the world’s first high-end IECEx and ATEX zone 1 certified Android smart phone for use in hazardous areas. BARTEC PIXAVI designed “Impact X” in-house and from scratch. The company is part of the BARTEC Group, the world market leader in explosion protection.

BARTEC PIXAVI has been able to create a device that bridges the gap between consumer and industrial mobile devices: Impact X is the first intrinsically safe smart phone with the same usability, performance and functionality as high-end consumer devices. The product is ready to use right out of the box, just like a regular smart phone.

In addition to being zone 1 and 2 ATEX and IECEx certified, Impact X is waterproof and extremely ruggedised. It has a sunlight readable display with a touch sensor designed for heavy rain and for operation with gloves. The device has three high-end cameras, a fast processor and double the battery capacity of a typical consumer smart phone.

When using the Impact X smart phone, the users have access to a wide range of value adding apps and services, such as office mobility apps, inspection and maintenance apps, ERP solutions, safety systems and communication tools. BARTEC PIXAVI is also launching a range of innovative video collaboration apps and device management software solutions in order to provide a complete turn key solution. One application is called “SIPIDO” and allows the user to conduct live video conferencing sessions and stream video from the field. With SIPIDO, the users can solve problems remotely, without having to send experts and technicians to the site.

Impact X is the latest addition to the comprehensive product portfolio and an essential part of the BARTEC strategy to ‘go mobile’. The target is to lead the way and release a range of smart phones, tablet PCs and accessories that provide customers with novel possibilities to enhance productivity and streamline efficiency in hazardous areas.
