VEGASWING 66 is a world first. It is VEGA’s (Germany) latest addition to its portfolio of vibrating limit switches for liquids. The instrument is designed for reliable, self monitoring, fail safe switching in applications with process temperatures up to +450 °C and process pressures up to 160 bar.

Until now, the principle of the vibrating level switch has been limited to process conditions up to a maximum of +280 °C and 100 bar. By using a new drive for the tuning fork of VEGASWING 66, VEGA has made deployment of the instrument possible far beyond these limits. VEGASWING 66 delivers a convincing performance with impressive values: process temperatures from -196° C to +450° C and pressures from 0 to 160 bar.

Since it is virtually unaffected by product properties such as product density, the vibrating level switch can be used with hardly any restrictions. The sensor switches reliably and reproducibly when a certain filling level is reached. Adjustment with medium is not required for setup. The integrated analysis and monitoring capabilities allow certification according to SIL2 and steam boiler regulations.

Users benefit from the technical features in combination with the total self-monitoring of the sensor and can be sure of highest system reliability – even in critical high-temperature and high-pressure applications. In addition, the universal level sensor VEGASWING 66 saves a lot of time and costs through its simple setup and commissioning.

The application range of VEGASWING 66 extends from distillation columns in the oil and gas industry, to high and low water limits in steam boilers, to cryogenic applications in gas tanks for LNG and nitrogen.

Standard approvals according to ATEX and FM for use in explosive gases and dust, as well as versions as compact sensor or with tube extensions up to 6m, round out the wide application spectrum of this unique, new product.
