The MicroGC technology offers a cost-effective and adaptable solution for biomethane analysis
Apr 02 2020
The SRA Instruments’ powerful biomethane MicroGC analyser, the model R490M, has been developed to monitor the composition, quality and heating values of biomethane. The analyser measures continuously and unattended essential parameters, analysing the composition of the gas, calculate physical properties according ISO 6976:2016 method such as density, Wobbe Index and Calorific Values, sulfur species, odorants and organic impurities (terpenes and ketones) prior to its injection into the natural gas transportation and distribution network. This analyser has been certified by the “Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d’Essais” for its on-line control of these regulated parameters following the OIML-R140 guidelines. This MicroGC thus makes it possible to guarantee the energy value, quality and the odorisation of the gas coming from the upgrading plant of biogas sources.
The SRA Biomethane Analyzer is designed in the form of an industrial 19″ 5U rack system that is compatible with standard analysis bays. This instrument can be furnished with up to 3 independent analytical channels of MicroGC (the 3rd optional, channel enables the measurement of the odorant that is added to the Biomethane for its detection in case of leakage). This flexibility therefore ensures that users can adapt the SRA Biomethane Analyzer to create the most cost-effective solution.
This analyser features Soprane Metrology software installed and configured by SRA.
