Green Lab’s ADEM -automated demulsibility/water separability tester- represents the next milestone in ASTM D1401/ISO 6614 demulsibility testing. Automation is the answer to any laboratory where high sample throughput is a requirement. For oil testing labs, this is no different. Whenever fresh oils, in-service oils, petroleum oils, or synthetic fluids are analysed, demulsibility characterisation is an important test parameter to report.

ADEM, with its unique, fully automated operation six test tubes are thermostated and stirred at a time. Through the entire test procedure evaluation and reporting of the measurement results are done automatically, too. The CCD camera and the long-life unique LED lightsource enables technicians to view real time the sample compartment on the display of a connected PC. The Windows-based control software records measurement parameters and evaulation results.

Experts can easily benefit from the special feature of the state of the art image processing and evaluating algorithm, while measurement results can be printed graphical or image format via external printer. The long-life components and the robust framework minimises the maintenance cost for the entire life time of the instrument. ADEM, the bench top auto-demulsibility tester guarantees reliable results without continous attention of manpower.

Key features: Adjustment, save and storage options of different method parameters. User memory and actual user identification, sample ID. Storage capacity: over 10,000 measurement results. User adjustable parameter options to perform custom methods based on the following: custom stirring, tempering and measurement time; custom measurement temperature; and custom stirring speed or non-stirring method. Uniform sample illumination and bubble elimination function. Multiple safety features: positioning sensors for stirrer movement; protection against overheating; and bath level detection and stable test tube positioning.
