GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies (USA) has opened its first dedicated calibration, repair and training service centre in Abu Dhabi at the CERT Technology Park. Nabil Habayeb, President and CEO of GE, Middle East and Africa opened the service and training facility in the presence of TimPovall, Global General Manager, GE Measurement Solutions; and Dr Bob Richards, CEO, CERT Technology Park.
Brian Hempenstall, Regional Service Manager MEA for GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies, said: "GE is proud to be added to the impressive list of national and multinational corporations on the CERT technology park. It is ideally located in the Gulf, which is one of the most important oil and petrochemical regions in the world. This is an industrial sector that relies very heavily on sensing instrumentation for pressure, temperature moisture, gas and flow. It is also an industrial sector where non-destructive testing is critical to safe asset management and to maintaining production outputs. The creation of our new calibration, training and repair facility will ensure that we can now move even closer to our Gulf customers to ensure that they receive the very best, both in terms of equipment and service."
The new Abu Dhabi service centre will offer state-of-the-art calibration equipment for pressure andmoisture sensors, particularly for the oil and gas sectors, and will be the only resource in the region capable of calibrating GE's range of moisture meters. It will also provide an on-site repair service for these products and will have the capability to up-grade existing customer equipment by the fitting of specific, manufacturer's software.
