Expanded flow capacity extends the versatility of leading range of compact mass flow controllers

16 Jul, 2025

Bronkhorst’s FLEXI-FLOW Compact series of mass flow meters and controllers has been expanded with the launch of new M2x and C2x models, enabling the accurate control of gas flows up to 500 l/min. This marks a considerable increase from the previous 20 ln/min limit, expanding the potential for use in higher-capacity fuel, lubricant, and emissions-related applications.

These latest models retain the core architecture of the original FLEXI-FLOW Compact devices, which combine a chip-based sensor with a bypass design. The integrated pressure and temperature sensors, along with an onboard gas database, allow for precise and adaptive flow control even under varying process conditions. Settling times of less than 150 milliseconds support responsive control in dynamic systems.

The technology offers multifunctional capabilities, including both mass flow and pressure measurement or control, either upstream or downstream, within a single compact unit. This flexibility makes the units particularly well suited to applications such as additive dosing in fuel formulations, control of carrier or sample gas in analytical systems, and gas delivery in synthetic fuel or catalyst research setups.

Optional EtherNet connectivity and software tools for configuration and diagnostics further support integration into modern, automated environments.
