New from Applikon Analytical (The Netherlands) is the ADI 2040 Exp for analysis of hydrogen sulphide in the crude treater unit.

Crude oil is passed through the treater to remove hydrogen sulphide with the analysis being carried out by gas chromatograph or on grab samples in the laboratory. The most accurate method is to titrate the sulphide in the sample but carrying out this method in the laboratory can take a significant period of time and lead to plant operating out of specification for many hours.   Carrying out the titration on-line in the production area will allow the most accurate sulphide analysis to be carried out in as short a time as possible, leading to greater control of the removal process.   The ATEX certified ADI 2040 Exp comes complete with a purpose built sample conditioning system to provide a complete integrated system. As the wet-part is mounted outside the purged cabinet maintenance and operator checks can be made without shutting the system down or carrying out gas testing for safety.   The configuration and working range of the analyzer and sample conditioning system can be adjusted to meet the exact requirements of each individual site and a full range of input/output signals with appropriate barriers for a complete system.
