Lubricant analysis
In many industrial applications such as gears, rolling bearings, cam–follower systems, metal rolling, traction drives, and even electric vehicle transmissions, performance, efficiency, durability, and noise are strongly influenced by lubricant friction. In rolling–sliding contacts, traction is an equally critical parameter alongside friction, directly affecting power losses, efficiency, and controlled torque transmission.
As machine designs evolve toward higher loads, increased speeds, smaller contact areas, and lower-viscosity lubricants, understanding lubricant traction is no longer optional, it is essential. Quick screening tools for Traction and Stribeck curves and traction tribometers have become indispensable for lubricant formulation, selection, and validation.
Paltro is hosting a free upcoming webinar that will explore the principles and test methods for lubricity assessment in rolling–sliding contacts using the Modular Traction Tribometer (MTT). The session will take place online on 8th April 2026 from 9:00 to 10:00 EST / 15:00 to 16:00 CET, and offers a valuable opportunity to learn and evaluate your lubricants.
The webinar is hosted by Paltro, a US-based deep-tech company specialising in advanced robotic test platforms that automate sensing and enhance measurement accuracy across industries including fuels and lubricants, additive manufacturing and biomedical devices.
