ASTM International’s committee on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels, and Lubricants (D02) will present its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Dr. Andy L. Pickard, consultant in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, Canada. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee is honoring Pickard for his dedication and knowledge of standard specifications, classifications, and test methods within committee D02. He has been a member of ASTM International since 1983, and has won the Frank W. Reinhart Award (2015), the Eagle Award (2014), the Award of Excellence (2011-2013), the George V. Dyroff Award of Honorary Committee D02 Membership (2009), and the Award of Appreciation (2006), all presented by committee D02.

Previously, Pickard was a Senior Fuels Specialist of Petro-Canada until 2003. Aside from ASTM, he is a member of the Canadian Society for Chemistry, Association of the Chemical Profession of British Columbia, and Society of Automotive Engineers International.
