Improved model of highly reputable ASTM D1322 smoke point analyser for jet fuel analysis

AD Systems introduced its first SP10 automated smoke point analyser in 2011, conforming to ASTM D1322 / IP598. The SP10 proved a significant advancement from the conventional manual method and was soon the referee method in jet fuel specification.

AD Systems has improved automation and measurement reproducibility fourfold. Human subjectivity errors and the dangers of observing an open flame during a manual smoke point test are also problems of the past. Since its launch, several hundred of these smart analysers have been installed in labs around the world.

However, technology is constantly evolving, and in 2020, the new, improved model SP20 automated ASTM D1322 smoke point analyser was introduced.

The latest model has sophisticated electronics and a redesigned user interface in 7 languages. While the SP20 adheres strictly to the test method, the level of automation has been enhanced. Thanks to its integrated ambient condition sensors, the SP10 automatically records the barometric pressure at calibration and compensates for atmospheric variations when measuring. Compared to its predecessor, the new model simplifies the operational procedure, eliminates typing errors, and improves method precision considerably.
