The HVM472 of PAC Herzog is an example of an automated device for kinematic viscosity measurement on Newtonian liquids. It is a crucial test for several oil products, heavy fuels, lubricants and polymer solutions. But this device can only work properly if the test performance is validated frequently. E.L.S., European Lab Services (Belgium) verifies analysers according to an ISO 17025 accreditation.

E.L.S. checks every step thoroughly before the job is done. For viscosity, the procedure is described by the specific method ASTM D445. The procedure contains the calibration and verification of the temperature bath on 1 temperature point, also the temperature reading will be verified. The ASTM procedure describes a calibration and verification of the time measurement. The offsets of temperature and time are programmed and will be verified after this.

Every step of the process will be checked and the apparatus will be ready to use with the proper certification. E.L.S. has 25 years of experience and a unique accreditation, European Lab Services is the only company worldwide providing verification of petroleum analysers with an ISO 17025 accreditation.
