Increasing user safety on ASTM D525 / ISO 7536 measurements was the primary concern when the PetroOXY from Petrotest Instruments (Germany) was engineered to improve traditional oxidation stability test methods for Gasoline (ASTM D525, ISO 7536), Diesel, Biodiesel (EN 14112) and Biodiesel Blends (EN 15751). These test methods are far too time consuming and labour-intensive to be used for spot checking product quality or for process monitoring and control. The correlation between EN 15751 and EN 16091 was proven in interlaboratory tests.

The excellent safety design of PetroOXY features a fully automatic operation, including oxygen charging and relief under a protective lid. PetroOXY will only run when the lid is locked into position and cannot be opened accidentally during a test run. In addition, the small sample size of only 5 ml reduces the risks when handling fuel samples in the laboratory environment. The high security standards have been reported by the German Federal Institute of Materials Testing. This report is available on request.

The compact, bench-top PetroOXY tester offers very fast test cycles (typically less than one hour) as well as a fast and simple cleaning procedure (only 5 minutes cleaning and preparation are needed between tests). PetroOXY provides clear and understandable results with significant improvements in repeatability and reproducibility. With its intuitive operation, PetroOXY can easily be used even by lab personnel with limited technical training.

The PetroOXY is an excellent tool for everyone involved in the development, production, storage and use of fuels including Biodiesel (FAME) and fuel additives.

Petrotest will be exhibiting at ArabLab, in Dubai, from 26 – 29 March, on the B.D.H stand
