Fast and accurate determination of smallest impurities in refineries and petrochemical industry is highly important. There sulfur analyzers are not only used in process control, prevention of catalyst poisoning, but also for controlling the sulfur limits in fuel production. Due to the use of nitrogen-containing additives (e.g. 2-ethylhexyl nitrate) UV fluorescence detection can be affected, and thereby give too high sulfur readings. Current standard methods describe such interferences.

In order to avoid false results, an innovative new UV fluorescence detector (UVFD) with Patented microplasma optimizer technology (MPO) was developed for multi EA® 5000. It ensures reliable analysis results, but also a remarkable sensitivity of detection, ease of use, and flexibility of the analysis systems. The operator has the choice to work with or without MPO technology. Switch-over between both modes is done fast and fully automatic.

Additionally this innovative technology can be used to determine lowest sulfur contents in presence of interfering nitrogen compounds, for all vertical and horizontal applications in solids, liquids and gas analysis.

multi EA® 5000 with MPC technology - your advantages:

  • Reliable determination of sulfur contents in presence of increased nitrogen
  • Fast, automatic switch-over between multi-element determination and sulfur determination using MPO technology
  • Precise and sensitive in ultra trace analysis (10 ppb)
