At PEFTEC 2017 VUV Analytics Inc. will be showcasing how ASTM Method D8071 simplifies the analysis of finished gasoline through the use of GC-VUV. The method provides complete PIONA compound class characterisation in a single measurement, potentially replacing the use of multiple legacy methods for this analysis. The setup procedure is easy and requires no pre-column tuning or valve timing adjustments. Faster GC run times can be achieved due to the method’s ability to handle co-elution among various species and hydrocarbon classes. The commercial application, known as VUV PIONA+, is suitable for use with finished gasoline, reformate, reformer feed, FCC, light naphtha, and heavy naphtha samples. Both methods will be on display in the VUV Analytics Inc. booth and discussed further by Dr. Kevin Schug and Dr. Thomas Groger during the final afternoon session covering spectroscopic techniques and on-line analysis.
