Measurement and testing
Teledyne Geophysical Instruments has introduced the eXtreamer, a compact, high-performance streamer engineered to meet the demanding requirements of today’s marine seismic market.
The eXtreamer was developed in collaboration with Geometrics, Inc.; it delivers industry-leading specifications for high-resolution (HR), ultra-high-resolution (UHR), and even ultra-ultra-high-resolution (UUHR) seismic data acquisition. Its small form factor and flexible design make it equally suited to large-scale deployments and operations using compact winch systems, enabling faster mobilisation, simplified relocation between projects, and minimal downtime.
For offshore energy exploration and site survey operators, this translates to greater operational flexibility, more data acquisition time, and a system that can be expanded without replacement, which is a crucial advantage as the industry demands shorter survey cycles and multi-survey adaptability.
Holli Sims, VP and GM of Teledyne Geophysical Instruments, says: “eXtreamer is a great example of state-of-the-art engineering that provides true value and ROI. Everything leads to the clarity and precision of data and flexibility of operations that the industry has been looking for.”
Bart Hoekstra, President of Geometrics, added: “eXtreamer isn't just a tool; it's a competitive advantage. We engineered it for exceptional durability and ultra-high resolution, empowering our clients to reduce survey time by acquiring HR and UHR (and even UUHR) data simultaneously with high fidelity. This streamer will give you the ability to provide specifications that your competitors can't match.”
