Setting up a Fieldbus infrastructure often involves installation work at remote locations with no power supply in sight. At the same time, the DCS and its associated infrastructure is far from being ready to perform remote fieldbus physical layer testing. For the field technician, this would usually mean the lack of on-site device diagnostics in order to get the system up and running within the limited time available.

The new mobile Fieldbus Battery BP-FBPS-1.30.1 from Pepperl+Fuchs is the ideal means to provide the power for on-site fieldbus diagnostics. It offers an adjustable output between 15 V and 30 V at 1 A max., making it the ideal match for the mobile Advanced Diagnostic Module (ADM) by Pepperl+Fuchs. In combination with devices requiring up to 500 mA of power, the unit provides sufficient energy for up to 8 hours of on-site work without recharging. The rugged housing offers IP54 protection to make it splash and rain proof. The battery comes fully equipped with built-in tools, such as current display and over/under termination.

With the new mobile Pepperl+Fuchs’ (Germany) Fieldbus Battery, field technicians are able to power up any PROFIBUS PA and FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 infrastructure, test it with the ADM and create the associated documentation directly on site. As a result, loop tests will commence without problems and last minute troubleshooting will be a matter of the past. The new mobile Fieldbus Battery BP-FBPS-1.30.1 is now available for immediate delivery.
