Measurement and Testing
From Fine Turbidity to Solids in Industrial Fluids
May 21 2010
The new TSS sc probes from Hach Lange (Germany) are the solution for almost all applications that require turbidity and suspended solids to be measured in fluids in the industrial sector. They deliver precise results in spring water as well as in sludge and emulsions. By evaluating eight different signals, it is possible to measure turbidity and suspended solids over a wide range of concentrations with just one sensor.
The 8-channel multiple angle optical system measures the turbidity in conformity with DIN EN 27027. No calibration is needed. The detection of solids in fluids is carried out by means of multiple angle measurements
at 90° and 120°. The system’s unique compensation method makes it extremely rugged and resistant to interference factors such as air bubbles, temperature and dissolved colorants.
The probes of the TSS sc family were specially developed to satisfy the exacting demands of industrial users. They are available as tank probes and for inline installation. With special models such as the Varivent for maximum hygiene, variants for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, high-temperature sensors and inert titanium probes, the range offers a suitable instrument for almost every application.
