“There has been a significant increase in the number of water authorities and environmental consultants who have chosen Chelsea Technology’s (UK) dye tracing systems” reports Bruce Kimber, Chelsea’s Customer Services Manager.

“This is mainly due to the system’s reliability, ease of use and low cost. The system is also highly sensitive, robust, and delivers real-time data. It includes a GUI which allows GPS tagged data to be sent via a Bluetooth wireless link to either a PDA or a PC for viewing and storage, thus giving the user freedom in the field to make high precision measurements anywhere, anytime. It can be moored, profiled, towed or affixed to ROV / AUV platforms.”

Typical applications for the dye tracing system include environmental monitoring, pollution control, process control within water treatment plants, commissioning of sewage treatment works and monitoring of pipeline integrity. “The benefit of this system over others” reports Bruce Kimber, “is that it is highly reliable and can be configured to measure a wide range of dyes including rhodamine, fluorescein & other specialist UV tracer dyes.”
