Extended collaboration offers laboratory instruments and scientific testing for engine oil, lubricant, and fluid research

Lazar Scientific, Inc. has now extended its partnership to represent the full Tannas and King laboratory instrument lines throughout the United States extending LSI’s sales efforts to the Tannas instrument line of lubricating oils, greases, fuels, and related fluids.

Tannas Co’s. equipment is required for meeting several international specifications, including the first and only field proven non-liquid ‘dry cylinder’ RPVOT (RBOT) instrument used for ASTM D2272 testing, ASTM D2112 testing.

The Quantum™ Oxidation Tester for ASTM D2272, D2112 – RPVOT: Rotating Pressure Vessel Oxidation Test, ASTM D4742 – TFOUT: Thin Film Oxygen Uptake Test, and ASTM D942 – Grease Oxidation Stability Test, is the only field-proven non-liquid RPVOT instrument in the industry used for evaluating oxidation resistance over a broad range of oils and lubricants and is widely used for base oil comparisons and as a condition monitoring tool for turbine oils.

King Refrigeration is best known for their highly precise and robust refrigeration baths for viscosity and cloud and pour point testing.

The King Brookfield Liquid Bath (BLB) measures low-temperature viscosity of ATF's, gear oils and hydraulic oils and other fluid lubricants using a patented SimAir® technique allowing the use of a small, less costly, constant temperature liquid bath. The only technique available that permits independent sample analyses which eliminates the need for batch sample testing for ASTM D2983.
