Among GMI's newest innovations is the PS200 multi-gas detector; ideal for hotworks and confined spaces. This state-of-the-art instrument monitors up to four hazardous gas conditions simultaneously using two sensor technologies: catalytic bead sensors for combustible gases, and electrochemical sensors for carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, and oxygen deficiency. The PS200 is equipped with an optional internal remote sampling pump, and packaged in a sturdy water resistant dust-proof case. Standard data logging and an optional Auto Bump and Calibration Station are components to this system. Operator interface and calibration are intuitive and easy by simply toggling between one-button functions.

During normal operation the LCD screen continuously displays battery life, real-time gas concentrations in ppm, and concentration of oxygen by percentage. Maximum and minimum gas concentrations for each sensor can also be programmed and monitored. During hazardous conditions users are warned by vibration alert, flashing LEDs, and/or audible buzzer with adjustable setting of up to 90db. The instrument is also fitted with an optional man down/motion sensor that activates alarms if no movement occurs within a pre-set time. Other features include: customised user identification code setup and calibration due date.

The instrument has a run time of more than 14 hours without the sampling pump, eight hours with the pump, and uses a lithium ion rechargeable battery. Maintenance is easy and requires no special tools to access the sensors and filters.
