While still relatively small compared with other parts of the world, the Eastern Europe oil and gas applications market is expected to grow. The automation and control solutions market in Eastern Europe has significant opportunities, the activity in Middle East has reached its maturity stage.

From the point of view of a company leader on the process control and automation market Syscom18 (Romania), there are no essential differences between applications in Eastern Europe and Middle East or Central Asia.

The small-to-medium size system integrators can fill specific gaps in regional expertise. Whether we talk about Eastern Europe or Middle East, the oil and gas operators are ever increasingly looking for turn key suppliers.

“We are a system integrator, basically we can offer the same things like any other multinational company. In Romania we are competitive because of our good prices and after sales technical support.”, says Ion Andronache (CEO).

Syscom18 have supplied tank gauging systems, metering skids, Vapour Recovery Systems, loading arms, pumps, valves, DCS system - for over 50 tank farms. In the last 5 years, Syscom18 has manufactured about 180 fiscal skids for Romania, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Iran, and Libya. Syscom18 also manufactured large natural gas metering stations.

In Middle East the company supplied a SCADA system in a refinery (Syria), metering skids (Iran) and Control and Metering System for a tank farm (Jordan). Syscom18 had projects in Kazakhstan, being responsible for process control systems for two large gas treatment stations in Caspian area. Syscom18 also completed in consortium with the Spanish company GASSO, the process control and metering system for a new oil terminal in the Port of Aqaba, Jordan.
