Neste Corporation has embarked on a significant initiative, commencing the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Emirates at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This marks an expansion of the collaborative effort announced by the two entities in October of the previous year. Throughout 2024, a substantial amount of over 6,000 tons (equivalent to 2 million gallons) of blended SAF will be introduced into the fuelling infrastructure at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

For Emirates, this partnership with Neste signifies one of the most substantial SAF procurements the airline has undertaken to date. Upon complete integration into Schiphol Airport's fuelling mechanism, more than 2,000 tons (700,000 gallons) of neat SAF will have been supplied as part of the blended SAF provision. Additionally, Neste is actively engaged with the airline to extend SAF supply to Singapore Changi Airport within the coming months.

Adel Al Redha, Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer at Emirates, commented on the collaboration, stating, "Working alongside dedicated partners such as Neste is integral to our strategy for emissions reduction. This partnership stands as a pivotal milestone in our journey towards sustainability as an airline. Such robust collaborations, particularly at significant air transport hubs like Amsterdam, lay the groundwork for enhancing accessibility and availability of SAF across our operational network."

Expressing Neste's commitment to supporting Emirates in their sustainability endeavours, Alexander Kueper, Vice President Renewable Aviation at Neste, remarked, "SAF presents a viable solution for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions from air travel, and we are thrilled that Emirates has commenced the utilization of our Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This exemplifies our collaborative efforts to expedite the adoption of SAF. We eagerly anticipate advancing our partnership with Emirates in the journey ahead."

This initiative underscores Neste's dedication to fostering sustainable aviation practices while reinforcing Emirates' commitment to environmental stewardship within the aviation industry.
