Jo Ameye, general manager at Fluitec NV in Antwerpen, Belgium, has received the Award of Merit and accompanying title of fellow from ASTM International Committee D02 on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants.

The Award of Merit, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest organisational recognition for individual contributions to standards activities. Ameye was recognised specifically for his outstanding dedication to the development of standards for turbine oils and condition monitoring.

D02 has recognised his past contributions with an Award of Appreciation and two Awards of Excellence. He has co-authored several ASTM journal articles and special technical papers.

Ameye has more than 25 years of experience in lubricant condition monitoring technologies. He first joined Fluitec NV, a company that specialises in fluid lubricant condition monitoring and fluid particle contamination control, as international sales and marketing manager in 1997. Ameye assumed his current role in 2011.

A graduate of Thomas More Mechelen – Antwerp University in Belgium, Ameye holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Outside ASTM, he is a member of the European Lubricating Grease Institute, the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers.
