A workshop on Estimating LNAPL Transmissivity will be held Oct. 7 at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Sponsored by ASTM International Subcommittee E50.04 on Corrective Action, part of Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action, the workshop will be held in conjunction with the committee’s standards development meetings.

The objective of this workshop is to provide a basic understanding of how LNAPL Transmissivity can be estimated and how to use estimated values in understanding practical limits for hydraulic recovery of petroleum. This information may then be used in making effective decisions with regards to LNAPL assessment, management and remediation.

The target audience for this workshop is environmental consultants, environmental project managers, regulatory project managers and technical staff. Attendees should have a basic understanding of hydrogeologic processes and non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) fundamentals. It is recommended that all attendees become familiar with ASTM E2856, Standard Guide for Estimation of LNAPL Transmissivity, in order to maximize the use of their time at the workshop.

Online registration is now open and closes Oct. 1. For registration, fees and additional information, visit www.astm.org/E50_Wrkshp1014.

Additional technical information is available from workshop chairman Tripp Fischer, P.G. Brownfield Science Technology, Inc., Cochranville, Pa. (phone: 610-593-5500; [email protected]).
