Founded as a distributor of analytical products at a time of upheaval and collapse of communism, Analytik Jena (Germany) is looking back on 20 eventful years. From the sale of analytical systems from major international groups to the repositioning as a manufacturer in their own right thanks to the acquisition of Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH‘s lab analysis technology operations and the acquisition of Docter-Optic Eisfeld GmbH, and through the launch of contrAA® technology, the IPO, the internationalization of sales activities by means of strategic capital expenditure, and finally the entry into the life science area: many milestones in the Company‘s development have remained etched in memory.

Since its foundation, Analytik Jena‘s success story has been characterised by a special intuition for the market requirements and the needs of users and customers. Spurred on by the demand to be better and more innovative than others, Analytik Jena used many strategic partnerships and acquisitions and integrated extensive knowledge into the Group in order to translate progress into innovations and products that respond to market needs. In the process, the central business units benefited from a symbiotic network. Today, this commercial enterprise is an internationally active group with nearly 800 employees, an extensive product portfolio, and an acute sense of responsibility: for its shareholders, its employees, its products, and its rich-in-tradition Jena region.

Analytik Jena‘s employees have been proving what they are capable of for 20 years, and the company can point to a remarkable record. For the future, too, its goals are ambitious and its aspirations with regard to its own performance are high. These very aspects, however, are what make up the company‘s recipe – as will be demonstrated in further chapters of its success story in upcoming years.
