When analysing Liquid Pressurised Gases (LPG) with Gas Chromatography or Elemental Analysis, the most challenging task is to maintain sample integrity. Uncontrolled expansion of pressurized or liquefied gases often leads to discrimination: the perceived sample composition changes. Also, LPG and hydrocarbon gases are extremely flammable and therefore need to be handled with great care in the lab.

PAC (USA) have developed ACCURA to answer to the ever demanding task of maintaining sample integrity in injecting gaseous or liquefied products into Gas Chromatographs and Elemental analysers. ACCURA is a temperature and pressure controlled vaporising injection device that completely respects sample integrity. The resulting data are more accurate and precise, which translates in a narrower product specification and better refining profits. ACCURA flags when sample lines are depressurised after analysis, signaling the operator when the sample container can be safely disconnected.

“With some injection technologies, sample integrity can often be affected by discrimination effects and surface activity of materials used in the sample path, and these effects are quite easily overlooked or ignored.” says Rob de Jong, Product Manager Gas Chromatography and Elemental at PAC. “With the excellent accuracy and precision of our ACCURA, we don’t take any compromise on data quality.”

In addition to high precision, the ACCURA has other significant benefits: ACCURA is very easy to use: a clear LCD displays all required information on pressures and flows for easy access; The complete sample path is fully inert to ensure accurate results for active components such as Hydrogen Sulfide; ACCURA can do multiple injections in Elemental analysis. It allows multipoint calibration with a single reference material possible, and eliminates the need to purchase multiple calibration cylinders; and ACCURA can be used in typical standardised LPG methods such as ASTM D2163, D6667 and D7551.

ACCURA is an ideal solution that  interfaces with all PAC MultiTek and 9000 models for Elemental analysis, as well as PAC Chromatographic Analysers based on the 6850, 7890A and 7890B GC Models.
