Scion Instruments, the new business created after the acquisition of the ex-Varian GC and GC-MS SQ assets from Bruker Cooperation, celebrated its first birthday.

Scion Instruments has a legacy for designing and manufacturing GC Analysers, based on the 436/456 GC platform, with the highest performance and sensitivity in the industry. The 436/456 GC exhibits first class specifications and is set to be the best for its performance. Under Varian these GC systems were the leader in the petro, petrochemical and energy sectors by developing innovative solutions to meet their demanding requirements.

Established within the former Varian operation the expertise for the production of these GC Analysers is located in The Netherlands. Scion Instruments is delighted to announce that a new Scion Solutions Group (SSG) is now open in Goes. The SSG team (mainly made up from former Varian and Bruker employees) have a wealth of knowledge and experience and will be responsible for building and testing GC Analysers for applications such as Refinery Gas Analysis and Simulated Distillation, etc., from simple to complex. This team will focus on ensuring that customers remain satisfied with all aspects of their system, through the application support centre at SSG.

Scion Instruments is also delighted to announce the opening of a new sales office for the Americas. The new facility in Austin, Texas, will handle sales, customer support and application enquiries for this region.
