Guarantee your Fuel Production Quality
Oct 15 2013
Levels of sulphur in fuels are heavily regulated because of environmental impact and the influence on engine lifetime.
This is reflected in several test methods and standards, like ASTM D4294, ISO 20847, ISO 8754 and IP 496 where energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) is the specified analytical technique.
EDXRF has several benefits for the elemental analysis of sulphur in different types of fuels because it is simple to use, has low operating costs and the sample preparation is easy.
On top of the generic EDXRF benefits, Epsilon 1 from PANalytical (Netherlands) sulphur in fuels solution offers out-of-the box norm compliant analysis. The repeatability results, set in the most stringent standard being ASTM D4294, are easily met. Moreover, Epsilon 1 sulphur in fuels EDXRF spectrometer’s small and powerful design, makes it also an ideal tool to place close to checkpoints for process and shipments control.
