The quantitation of individual components in a petroleum mixture is performed throughout the petroleum industry. However, their analysis can be challenging due to coelutions and matrices using conventional systems. Comprehensive two-dimensional GC (GCxGC) provides a significant increase in its ability to quantify individual components. By multiplying the resolving power of a single gas chromatograph by that of another, GCxGC provides a significant increase in the number of chemical compounds that can be separated in a given amount of time.

LECO's (USA) GCxGC-FID combines the increased resolving power and peak capacity of a GCxGC system with a cost-effective Flame Ionization Detector. Ideal for everyday quality control and production needs, the GCxGC-FID provides you with the right tools necessary to achieve exceptional results, increasing efficiency and productivity in your laboratory. Easy-to-use ChromaTOF brand software simplifies component identification, eliminating the tedious guesswork involved in the identification and classification of components and providing results that are easy to identify and interpret. Additional detectors—including ECD, NPD, and a Sievers SCD module for sulphur detection—are also available.
