CFR is consistently looking for ways to stay true to the name sake of XCP and expand the technology into more relevant and beneficial applications. Building upon past learnings, the newest Octane Analyser (OA) option from CFR Engines Inc. delivers the expanded benefits that users desire. The OA option can be applied to existing CFR F1/F2 units with XCP Technology and provide users an automated octane test. The octane analyser is fully designed, manufactured, and tested to seamlessly integrate with XCP panels by CFR engineers in Pewaukee, WI, USA.

The octane analyser upgrade option provides capability to run all four test procedures of the current ASTM® Methods D2699 (RON) and D2700 (MON). With the expanded benefit of being able to now run Procedure D (bracketing OA), users can capitalise on faster test results and better utilization of lab resources. With the octane analyser users can expect improved consistency amongst multiple operators and better repeatability on consecutive passes.

There are several, notable user benefits of operating a CFR F1/F2 unit with OA.  It will automatically complete full 2-pass tests: setup test, fill fuel reservoirs, hit start and then wait for the report. Operators can test with the broader octane number ranges of Procedure D: 72-103.5 MON and 72-108 RON. Whereas operators were previously manual fuel switching, air/fuel adjustments and data recording are now automatic and there is a reduced testing time of approximately 20 minutes for a complete and certifiable octane determination. In addition this system enables  a reduction in fuel consumption of approximately 100 mL for each fuel (sample and two primaries).
