Analytical Instrumentation
Machine shop founded in 1922 by Anton Paar – a century later, a global corporation offering precise analytical solutions for the petroleum industry
Apr 25 2022
Anton Paar has provided analytical solutions to the petroleum related industries – across fuels, lubricants, asphalt, bitumen, plastics, and polymers – for many decades. The acquisition of Petrotest in 2012 expanded a well-established portfolio of precision instrumentation.
Automated solutions, zero or minimal maintenance, and understandable measuring routines that need only basic training, all enhance efficiency and throughput in petroleum-related laboratories. Low sample, solvent, and energy requirements, along with fast measurements, reduce waste and environmental impact are the typical characteristics of an Anton Paar product.
Top-quality, well designed, Ex-certified instruments with integrated safety features improve worker safety. The company reinvests 20 % of its turnover in R&D, this strongly positions Anton Paar to help its petro-industry customers enjoy greener technology and higher levels of automation, as well as adapt to new or changed standards.
Anton Paar’s instruments are used in R&D for environmentally friendly energy sources like biofuels and synthetic fuels.
For a century, Anton Paar has merged high-precision technology with scientific research so that it is now a global market leader in the fields of density and concentration measurement, rheometry and CO2 measurement. Many of the world’s leading companies in the refining, petroleum, petrochemical and oil & gas industries rely on the expertise and instrumentation of the Anton Paar Group.
Anton Paar has 45 sister companies and sales subsidiaries, along with 50 sales partners, and operates in more than 110 countries around the world. "Talent, commitment and inner cohesion, in both successful and difficult times, have always distinguished us and our company,” says CEO Friedrich Santner. “With these attributes, we are confidently entering the second century of our history."
The non-profit Santner Private Foundation has owned the company since 2003. The foundation has two purposes: the promotion of non-profit science and research, and the prevention of drug addiction and the support of projects to combat addiction.
