Still measuring the density of your asphalt/bitumen with a pycnometer?

Does your daily measuring routine include time-consuming cleaning which needs a lot of solvent and time?

The solution is the DMA 4200 M - now with the new ASTM standard: ASTM D8188

Compliance with ASTM D4052 and ATM D5002

Due to the new and automatic bubble detection feature, FillingCheck™, DMA 4200 M is compliant with ASTM D4052 and ASTM D5002. The influence of viscosity is corrected faster and more accurately than ever before by a newly developed viscosity correction method.

New ASTM D8188 for asphalt

The new ASTM method is an alternative to the pycnometer method (ASTM D70). It makes the density measurement of asphalt, asphalt binder, and bitumen much faster and more accurate.

Constant temperature control from the syringe to the inlet and outlet of DMA 4200 M ensures highly fluid bitumen/asphalt or residual fuel oil when filling.

The benefits of the DMA 4200 M compared with the pycnometer are:

  • Saves time, solvent, and money:
  • Small sample volume of only 2 mL to 3 mL
  • 10 times faster than manual methods like pycnometers (ASTM D70)
  • Low solvent consumption for cleaning routines

The DMA 4200 M density meter will improve, simplify, and accelerate your density measurements bitumen/asphalt, crude oil, and LPG:

  • Provides compliant results for your petroleum samples:
  • New automatic bubble detection: FillingCheck™
  • ASTM D4052 and ASTM D5002 compliant
  • ASTM D8188 compliant
  • Fast new viscosity correction
  • New Temperfect™ feature - just fill sample and measure at any temperature between 0°C and 150°C at ambient pressure

The new density meter with the patented "Pulsed Excitation Method" for the most stable density results ever
