Brookfield Engineering Laboratories, Inc., (USA) has seen the BF35 Viscometer become a popular choice drilling and fracturing engineers in the field.
The BF35 viscometer is easy to use, has a small footprint and provides precise measurement in harsh conditions. It uses a motor-driven electronic package to provide oilfield personnel with an accurate and versatile tool to measure a fluid’s Plastic Viscosity (PV) and yield point (YP). The BF35 maintains rheology history and reproducibility between instruments and laboratories making it suitable for both field and stationary laboratories.
The BF35 Couette geometry Viscometer determines the flow characteristics of fluids in terms of shear rate and shear stress over time and temperature ranges at atmospheric pressure. Speeds can also easily be changed with a control knob, and shear stress values are displayed on a lit, magnified dial for easy reading.
The BF35 viscometer also provides the following advantages; Operates from a 12-Volt battery(r standard rig power, either 115 or 230-Volt, 50-60 Hz), Motor RPM is continuously monitored and automatically adjusted by the electronic speed regulator to maintain a constant shear rate under varying input power and drilling fluid shear conditions and Eight precisely regulated test speeds (shear rates in RPM) as follows: 3 (Gel), 6, 30, 60, 100, 200, 300, and 600.
The BF35 viscometer is a compliment to the Brookfield TT100 in-line & PVS pressurised viscometers. It is currently in use at various drilling and fracturing sites throughout the world.
Brookfield also offers the DVIIT and DVIIIT LSRV Lab viscometers with touchscreen controls.
